  • 2 medium apples (peeled, cored, diced)
  • ⅓ cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • ¼ tsp ground nutmeg
  • ¼ tsp allspice
  • ¼ tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 package premade pie dough (contains 2 crusts)
  • Beaten egg (for egg wash)
  • Coarse brown sugar (for sprinkling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine diced apples, brown sugar, and spices. Melt butter in a pan, add the apple mixture, and cook until slightly softened. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Roll out one pie crust on a floured surface and cut circles for the base. Spoon filling onto each circle, cover with another dough circle, and crimp edges with a fork.
  4. Brush with egg wash and sprinkle with coarse sugar.
  5. Bake for about 25 minutes until golden brown.
