  • 4 teaspoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 2 cups canned pumpkin (not pie filling)
  • ⅔ cup brown sugar
  • ⅔ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup applesauce or canola oil
  • 3 eggs (room temperature)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1½ cups semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F. Grease two 8×4 inch loaf pans and line them with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and pumpkin pie spice.
  3. In another bowl, combine canned pumpkin, brown sugar, granulated sugar, applesauce or canola oil, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Stir the wet mixture into the dry ingredients until just combined.
  5. Gently fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the batter evenly between the prepared loaf pans.
  7. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. Allow to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
